The Technological Advances in Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic Dentistry South Florida | Cosmetic Dentist

With all the technological advances in society, it can be hard to keep up. While your smartphone may be slimmer and faster than ever before, innovations in dental instruments are also improving! Why does this affect you? Because now patients are required to be in the dental chair for less time, meaning less discomfort, more positive results, and no more fear of dentists! A cutting-edge instrument called the Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CEREC for short is allowing more and more dentists to quickly restore damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, saving patients time and inconvenience. If you suffer from damaged teeth, then continue reading to learn all the benefits that come from a CEREC Cosmetic visit with Dr. Edwin C. Delz DDS, PA at Single Visit Dentistry.

CEREC Cosmetic Dentistry Pompano Beach

The CEREC allows dentists to economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth. The technology used in this groundbreaking device is CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing) technology. In the CEREC, the instrument incorporates a camera, computer, and milling machine into a single dentistry instrument! This dentistry instrument allows dentists to capture accurate pictures of the damaged tooth and display the design for the tooth restoration on a color computer screen using the CAD technology to design the restoration. Then CAM takes over and automatically creates the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The whole process can be down in as little as an hour!

Many patients would hide their beautiful smile due to the silver fillings previously used. However, with the advancements made through the CEREC, your tooth filling will be natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive, and plaque-resistant. Gone are the days of having to create temporaries or take impressions that are required to be sent to a lab, forcing you to return for the traditional second visit. Now, dentists can provide better and more camouflaged tooth fillings in just one visit! With over a decade of clinical research and documentation to support the CEREC, the restorations have been proven precise, safe, and effective.

The Single Visit Dentistry Difference

Dr. Delz has always been an advocate for using advanced computer technology in the dental office. Since the 1980s, Dr. Delz has used a computer software system that managed patient treatment information. Originally running on one of the first personal computers available, Dr. Delz has constantly updated this software and continue to implement it in his dentistry. Now owned by the Kodak company, this computer program was the start of the technological advances in oral health.

To improve our diagnostic skills and provide better treatment for our patients, Single Visit Dentistry has invested in multiple software programs over the years to make the dentist a more comfortable place for patients. We acquired the One Visit CADCAM Cosmetic restoration equipment for in-office dental restorations five years ago and since then we have been able to provide our patients with the best restorative service since the all gold restoration went out of style. Today in our office a patient can have an all-porcelain crown prepared, manufactured by the computer, and placed with no impression, no temporary, and no second visit.

By using all the available advancements in technology in our dentistry, we decided to rebrand our business and to rename ourselves the “Single Visit Dentistry.” By only needing one visit, patients suffer from less trauma and needless accessory procedures that the patient must endure. The resulting restoration process at Single Visit Dentistry is more aesthetic, more resistant to wear, and will last longer. If you’re interested in CEREC Cosmetic dentistry or learning more about what technology we use in our offices to make it a better appointment for you, then please feel free to call our office at (954) 870-4781. We will be happy to answer your questions about this new technology.
